This is not worth even $50 they discontinued and disconnected the cloud features. You can't even control it by the app

Amen to this. I was a die hard Google tech fan, and over the years they have seemingly shown time and time again they don't give a single you know what about long term loyalty or tech adoption. I've since moved on and out from everything except the displays since they still have some use. Once they die I'll be completely abandoning their ecosystem

I have this. It's terrible. Worse in every way than the first generation.

Not in durability though, the first gen doorbells used faulty materials and most look like this now [ebayimg.com].

This doorbell is OK if you just want the very basic features and don't want the subscription. But then, so are many other brands that are cheaper.

The only reason to buy this is if you use a Google Nest Hub, which can instantly display the camera feed when the doorbell is pressed. This was a useful feature in my parents case so I got one for them. For people who are capable of using phones, go with another brand.

It really was slimy how they just disabled the thermostats and security products, leaving people with no way to use them at all.

But I have to admit, only Google and Amazon are even trying to make their products usable by people who aren't familiar with modern technology. They're not doing a great job, but at least they're trying.

What really blows my mind is that neither Google or any other company has come up with a senior-friendly remote control for YoutubeTV that functions like the ones cable companies provide.
