This DeWalt combo stands out for the brushless XR tools and the two FLEXVOLT 6.0 Ah batteries, with the free tool making the package feel especially strong. The hammer drill is described as more robust, and the kit can be tailored toward a jigsaw, circular saw, reciprocating saw, or SDS rotary hammer depending on the job. The main drawback is the FLEXVOLT batteries, which are much heavier and bulkier than standard packs. An extra 4 Ah battery also showed up in the box for some orders, making it a very loaded kit if the weight does not bother you.

  • The package has reportedly included an extra 4Ah battery that was not listed in the Product Details, increasing the delivered battery value.

  • The kit can be attractive even when the included tools are not needed because the two FLEXVOLT batteries are the main draw.

  • The deal can effectively lower the out-of-pocket cost by treating the SDS rotary hammer drill as the free item.

  • The circular saw and reciprocating saw options can cover common DIY cuts like 2x4s and PVC pipe demolition.

  • FLEXVOLT batteries can be much heavier and bulkier than compact batteries, which may reduce practical convenience for light DIY use.

  • The kit and the added free tool reportedly use separate SKUs, which can mean the items ship as separate factory boxes.

  • The free tool contents have reportedly varied between deliveries, with one report describing a single-box kit and another expecting the additional tool in a separate box.

  • The deal may be less compelling for occasional users because the extra battery weight can outweigh the upgrade when tools are used only a handful of times yearly.

If you don't have any other tools, then you need the circular saw or the reciprocating depending on what you intend for use. The circular is the go-to for cutting boards and 2x4s while you could use the reciprocating for cutting PVC pipe, demolition, or tree trimming.

XR tools for essentially $100 each and 2 free FlexVolt batteries? Amazing deal! That DCF860 impact is their highest end impact too.

I actually posted this a few days back: https://slickdeals.net/f/18731566-dcd806-dcf860-dcs356-2-6ah-flexvolts-standard-charger-399?referrerid=7803395I got mine delivered today. It came in one single box. Now it's with a Free tool!! I placed another order and would be returning my previous order.NOTE: There's a free 4AH battery in there as well - which is not listed in the Product Details!! LOL
I think it'll come out ~$257 if you add the SDS rotary hammer drill as a free item. Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing:https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL...0461277206

Is it possible to return just the oscillating multi tool from the main package?

Most likely not as that's part of a single SKU.

Very confusing. The image says buy one get one, but next to the price it says free gift with purchase. Are those the same thing or are they mutually exclusive? Also, is it worth it to wait for Black Friday/Cyber Monday for something like this?

How does this match up with either of these two Milwaukee deals (one with two batteries and a free two tool, and the other has a 3 batteries)? Looks pretty much the same and the Milwaukee's come with a hard case. Any advice on this? I am looking for home use to replace an aged Ryobi set. Thanks.

The Milwaukee has a more robust hammer drill in the kit. Otherwise, you're looking at trading an extra battery on the Milwaukee for a multitool on Dewalt. You really can't go wrong with either one - they're both the beefier sets of tools with the larger battery packs. Dewalt's batteries are the Felxvolt type which can be used if you ever get the 60V Dewalt tools.

Thanks. Curious if you think I should wait for Black Friday or Cyber Monday or is this as good as it gets?

This deal is similar to the Black Friday deals of 2024. There's lots of speculation on the impact of tariffs on Stanley Black & Decker (parent company of Dewalt) because they've been claiming business impacts of tariffs in their public reports. I personally bought this set and will do my pick-up later. I might leave it in the box until the Home Depot Black Friday deals get announced on Nov. 5th. Good idea. I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on the Milwaukee deal. Hard case does it for me.
