Can this be claimed for tax credits? How does it work, does it need to be installed or just a purchase is enough?

Technically no. Only because you can't prove that it wasn't claimed by somebody else since it is a refurbished unit. If eco-flow was more clear on what refurb meant in each case you could possibly claim it. For example if it it was refurb because it was damaged in initial shipment from China, it would technically still qualify.

Yep, I was thinking, used can't be claimed, but we don't know where it falls.

I had no idea. I didn't realize each unit it was individually keyed. But that makes sense because I saw there's something about a pin.
are people buying these, claiming the credit, and then return returning them?

Delta Pro Ultra X shipping soon, take a look at that option first if you're in the market for one of these

But also, if they don't check your tax return, most likely it will process. I saw the form and it doesn't ask for anything.

I tried to get a thermostat rebate from DTE and it said refurbished on the invoice from Amazon and they rejected it because it was refurbished.

Yes I bought refurbished before and had no problem claiming the credit.
