Hmmmmm. I'm in the market for a new plex server and this wouldn't be half bad. The RTX 4050 would help out with transcoding as well.

anyone figured out how to become a member- its asking to verify the phone but wont send the OTP, the one time it did send its a short 6 digit code and the website throws an error to enter atleast 14 characters --what a joke!

People are down on this, but it's under 4 lbs and my partner needs a basic gaming laptop she can move.

I was able to verify and get the lower pricing. Is this a good deal, or wait for BF?

It's a good deal at the moment, but I'd suggest to wait till BF, we might see some better 4050 laptops around this price. And by better I mean with a better and newer processor and battery life. Otherwise, this is a good deal for the price.

I just don't understand why these manus keep pushing out multiple generations old CPUs with significantly newer GPUs. Yes I know both on this scenario are aged but... 4000 series with a 12th gen? 13th gen came out nearly 6 months before the 4000 series even launched

Gaming laptops are mostly on heavier side. Only some premium laptops offer best performance to weight ratio. This particular laptop has single fan so this would throttle at its peak and gpu tgp is low so most likely it would perform like rtx 3050.
