I'm all for competition and DJI really needs some, but the Neo seems like a better value for the features/performance for this class of selfie drones. I guess the folding aspect is cool, but adds weight and structural weakness and doesn't seem to reduce the overall size.

I'm all for competition and DJI really needs some, but the Neo seems like a better value for the features/performance for this class of selfie drones. I guess the folding aspect is cool, but adds weight and structural weakness and doesn't seem to reduce the overall size.

How do you see DJI need competition since it's out of business in US by the end of this year...

As someone who's had the X1 for years, this is not true in any way, shape, or form. It is much lighter than the Neo and performs just the same. In fact, you actually have many more presets to choose from with the X1 than in the Neo. You can fit the X1 in your pocket no problem along with all batteries. You cannot do that at all with the Neo. Ohh, and by the way, the X1 is not competing against the Neo in this category of drones. DJI is the one competing with Hover. The X1 released way before the Neo and it is the reason why the Neo exists. Hover Air recently announced a new drone that you can get wet with absolutely no issues and it even takes off from the water which is perfect for surfing. Do not be surprised to see something similar come out from DJI in the next year or two. When it comes to these ultra small drones that take off from your palm, HoverAir IS the leader.

P.S.: I have the Neo also and they are honestly different categories of drones. Both are wonderful at what they do. The coolest thing the Neo does is that it can be paired up with a controller, which expands it's range to up to 1000ft IIRC and 100 ft in height. Both are great choices and you will not go wrong either way. However, if you want the most portable drone, let's say to go Hocking and take quick little videos of you and a bit of your surroundings, the HoverAir wins by miles.
