This is my miter saw setup and it's basically perfect. The stand gets a little loose in that it will extend on occasion as I am wheeling it around, but it's very worth it.

I don't think I've seen the 780 under $500 with a stand, but the 779 combo is pretty common around the holidays for near that price.

As the other person said, not the 780. This is about the best deal you can get on this combo for the 779. And for those that prefer the Ridgid stand for $100, I have that stand and my buddy has the Dewalt stand. Both good stands but I prefer the Dewalt at this point if I could do it over.

Correct. If you don't want the rolling stand there's usually a deal on the DWS779 with the compact stand or the extending stand in the $400-450 range and then you're looking at $100 more to upgrade to XPS line.

I got the (DWS779) with the non wheeled fold up stand (DWX723) for $581 and It's been fantastic.
This is a way better deal than what I got.
