Good price and good adapter unless you use it on a KVM switch. If you use a KVM and your monitor randomly blanks out, it's because of this adapter. (Several TESmart and other KVM brands). If you do use a KVM, especially with multiple monitors, I suggest using Sabrent or BENFEI adapters. Also does this on HP's docking stations (the cube one), and again, only happens when you use multiple monitors..

Any idea what the issue is in this adapter that makes it fail to work with a KVM switch?

Just reminder: It's one way adapter, you have DP and want to have HDMI instead, this working well. Convert HDMI signal to DP - it's dos not work

Why not just say:
The DP side is the input signal
The HDMI side is the output signal

Or the item description says:
"UNI-DIRECTIONAL: Converts signal from DisplayPort to HDMI only (not bi-directional)."

Not sure. I mean they do work, 99% of the time, just randomly going black for a second and coming back on. On some computers, you hear Window's disconnect and connect sound play when it happens. (Same sound when you unplug and plug in something via USB).

What is this typically used for? Is it mainly for desktop computers with a DP output? In the photos, they show a laptop using this adapter, but I've never seen a laptop with a DP output.
