Have it in my kids room, the UI is horrendous and I highly highly recommend you get fire tv stick or Roku or anything else than the obsolete xumo platform used on this tv. Otherwise works as expected and decent picture quality.

Not really. My $1200 Samsung is also a POS. There's no such thing as a quality unit anymore. If you're just streaming anyway, it's better than just get something cheap and cycling every couple of years.

I want to get a cheap 50" or 65" TV for my covered screened-in porch. (no chance of moisture, but still outdoors, so subject to hot or cold outside air)

can this TV survive that kind of condition?

That's what you need to do with anything other than something that runs ROKU out of the box

Unless you want to side load apps, in which case Roku is worthless. It's the AOL of streaming boxes.

No regular TV can survive the extreme temperatures of for example the Northeast. My question though is why would you be watching in such extreme conditions (other than perhaps if you have a Jacuzzi room that is not temperature controlled?

I am saying you get what you pay for... if you want to trust the reviews the day after purchase vs the ones who say it didn't last a year, then pay for it

Man i had a high end Sasmsung at an AirBnb I stayed out. Was the slowest piece of crap software I have ever seen. Tied with crap internet, it was almost unusable.

This TV with a Google TV attached to it will be a nice kids room setup

I understand the cost of this TV. Its very cheap. It is listed at a 4K. My source will be appleTV.
Obviously, I don't expect performance of an LG OLED, but realistically speaking, just what kind of 4K quality can be expected from this TV?
