For my use case I bought one years ago for applying pesticide around the perimeter of my property because a 1 gallon one was too small. Being able to continuously pump and spray is a huge timesaver but is only practical for large applications.
That said although I still have one of these and it works just fine, I've moved over to a battery sprayer which gives you a much better and consistent spray pattern. I have one of the Bauer models that HF discontinued because it was prone to leaks (it's a very simple setup and an average DIYer can fix that situation). I bought it primarily because the Bauer battery line is compatible with Dewalt batteries with some basic mods (cut out some plastic pieces). Works great.
You need a $50 pressure washer to wash a car. This will mist your windshield - it's like a little kid pissing, not even an adult.

you could stuff it all in the back of a large van or just outfit a trailer like this:

The main problem is water is extremely heavy. IBC totes like seen in the image hold 300-500 gals in which case just the water in the tote will weigh 2500 - 4000 lbs not including the IBC itself and all the ancillary equipment which means you need a pretty beefy trailer. The specific tote in the image holds 90 gals which will be more like 750 lb but will limit how many washes you can do before refilling. (for reference google is telling me a carwash at home will use 40-140 gallons so let's say the average is 90 - meaning the setup in the image will only be good for around 1 wash)

There are 3 options:
1. He's stealing water from the irrigation lines of the parking lot
2. He has some equipment that recycles the used, dirty water
3. He's super skilled in washing the cars with very little water
Probably the second because I don't see much runoff from his washing and I observed him clean one day and he wasn't being stingy.
When I wash my own car, I use around 40-50 gallons and my driveway is overflowing with water as if it was a murder scene.
