115Hz seems odd and almost arbitrary, am I right?

it's probably 100Hz over clocked to 115Hz is my guess

I was pleasantly shocked how Sceptre has evolved - I had always remembered them being this super cheap brand. We needed a cheap low-res resolution monitor for this one server in our hotel data room (we have this old server that is extremely picky and refuses to work if you plug in a 1080p monitor into it - tried countless monitors and cables) so we picked up a Sceptre E205W-16003RTT for $79. The fit-and-finish was extremely impressive with not the slightest creak when you press on it with a very nice and colorful panel. It honestly makes many of the $200+ LG monitors we have throughout the hotels feel like a toy (e.g. super flimsy plastic with lots of creak when you press on it).

So I bought this Crua 2 weeks ago which is also 34" IPS 1440p but curved. Happy so far but just worried about longevity. Anything better spec wise on the Spectre than the Crua I should consider?

Just had some desk rearrangements in the house and one of the rooms they got rid of the desk that had mounts and a monitor. They wanted to add a second also, this solves the needs they have and the fact I didn't want to move monitors around. Specs are nice enough for someone who games lightly and works on other things, though I might steal it if they hate it.

Are the speakers the typical garbage they put on monitors? Need a 34 inch tv but would like to repurpose it in the future as a monitor

I purchased this same monitor about 2 weeks ago and I am very happy so far. Screens, like gas and other things are made by only a few manufacturers so I doubt this Crua company makes the screen. I rarely see monitors go out, and if so it will either be in warranty, or out of date so long that you will probably want a new monitor anyway.
