Same deal as Sam's Club. Nice one. This device is amazing. I love that it allows to use 2 AirPods in it because it gives my wife and I a chance to watch tv while the kids are sleeping.

Will wait for thanks giving, since it's already in Costco promo book.

I am going to hold off till Walmart clearances these out. Still running two first gen 4ks and one second gen 4K. These things last forever and no ads.

I legit don't know what else they can do with these outside of either making them smaller or turning into a streaming stick. I have a mixture of the 4K ones throughout my house and I'd be damned if I could tell someone which was the "newer" one. Only a fool would continue waiting for a new one of these unless indeed they had zero need for it in the first place!

Shoot, even not having an ethernet jack is fine as a normal stable wireless connection is going to pass through everything without hiccups.

Camera was the rumor that got me excited. That solves a big issue with us for family zoom calls with family out on the west coast. And we don't have a spare iphone just laying around that we can use.

but it's almost november and they haven't announced it yet and then there have been recent rumours that the camera was pulled out of the latest designs.

there's always improvements for speed, and smarthome standards always seem to be changing so they will have all that under the hood crap too.

i keep hoping they will really lean into gaming with a apple TV pro or something.

i'm getting this one now to replace my older apple tv in the living room and will 'hand it down' to another tv in my house. still gives me a tv running purely off the built-in apps so when the NEW new one comes out i'll replace that one too.

the whole apple tv 4k + homepod integrated setup is really nice and if newer hardware helps that keep being nice i'm just gonna blindly buy it lol

It's really the OS and Siri that need improvements. My two biggest wishes are better voice controls esp for subtitles and better handling of app refresh. (I've given up hoping for more flexible customization; that's just not how Apple works.)

New processor. The current version includes the A15 which was the chip in the iPhone 14 (released at the same time). We're up to the A19 now in the iPhone 17 which has way stronger performance. It might not matter to everyone, but the Apple TV is getting closer and closer to a low-end gaming setup with a chip upgrade.
