You got me to buy one just on that. Can you cram it full of onions and it will reduce it all down without much intervention?

I don't think I have "crammed" it lol but I have put at least 4 very large thin sliced vidalia onions in, so it was probably 3/4 loosely filled, and they have cooked down. That part is freaking bliss.

I also have added parboiled chunked potatoes to the onions. If you do this you need to keep a bit of an eye on it, because left to do it's thing, it will eventually "mash" the potatoes. Which isn't unpleasant, but if you wanted chunks you may want to pull it out sooner.

I did try once adding 4lbs uncooked meat (pork tenderloin) to my onions, and it was too much weight. But I was pushing its limits. The paddle just tries to move but can't. It probably would have handled 2lbs fine.
