Same Price as on Bambu Labs site. Bambu Lab site also gives the option to do the AMS Pro 2 for $50 more for those that are interested in that upgrade.

ams2 pro is definitely worth the upgrade from AMS1. Looks like its $70 more, but, yes, get AMS2 pro

How does this compare to the $619 deal that is currently on sale at Bambu's website? I honestly can't tell the difference. Best Buy just says "combo" I don't know what that means...

Does it make sense to buy this for 550 + taxes compared to centauri carbon 280 + 30 shipping an no taxes if I don't care about the ams?
If you don't care about the AMS why would you buy the combo? Just buy the P1S for $400. https://us.store.bambulab.com/products/p1s

any of the upgrades worth adding? The hardened steel upgrade or the high output hotend?

Early 2026. Snapmaker U1 is already in production.

https://www.tomshardware.com/3d-p...-u1-review

Printers like the P1S make A LOT of plastic waste. Printers like the Snapmaker U1 promise to make a lot less waste, though still quite a bit. I don't especially care about being multi-color, but I do care about having supports of different material that easily break off without ruining the main print.

I figure I'll let this new tech mature for a bit.

4-axis and 5-axis would be even better, but that's just in the experimentation phase right now.

If you are going to print any of the abrasive filaments (Anything carbon fiber, Glass, Glow in the dark, Wood, Marble, Metal + some I'm probably missing) you should buy both the hardened nozzle and extruder.

What is the link for the hardened extruder? I don't think ordered that. I did order the hardened nozzles.

Just an FYI, the P2S, a refreshed version of this, is expected to come out soon and is even listed as Coming Soon on Best Buys website.
I believe it will be $750 and potentially coming in time for Christmas.
Leaked price on Best Buy website was $800, and that's highly dependent on tariffs. Also, release is not guaranteed because of said tariffs.

They've already come up with an agreement on the tariffs they just haven't announced it yet. I don't anticipate it changing.

Good to know. This might be what I go with then, but I'm still going to wait until close to black Friday.

Too small. Get the larger H2S, instead. It will actually print real objects.

I would avoid the centauri if you are remotely annoyed at having to fiddle with your printer. I've barely needed to fiddle with the p1s. The centauri has been a headache. I don't know how many times I've taken the extruder apart. It was working fine after elegoo replaced the entire printhead but it started clogging again. Now it's giving me some fatal error during printing where it completely shuts off. I'm someone who doesn't want to spend time messing around with it. Some people don't mind but it's not for me.
I have 100s of hours on my CC and it has been perfect it's the definition of an appliance and after a decade in the hobby and a half dozen printers it's nice to have an appliance.

They're out and have been out for years, some new cheaper models are out but I'd wait at least a year to see how things shake out so picking up something like the p1s combo now for 550 and then using it for a year+ makes more sense to me.
