It's stamped, so it's mediocre.Best bet is to grab a few cheap Mercer genesis knives and a magnetic mount for them. Knives are always better off being bought piecemeal

My set is just like this but it has more steak knives. Pretty good value. They're surprisingly decent if you take good care of them. I found a smaller higher quality set at the thrift and bought a couple nicer knives. I think that's the best way. The Cuisinart are my beater knives.
