Randalls, being part of Safeway, also offers the same promo.

I have shopped at Randalls online for a couple of times (without Fresh Pass membership). I just want to share their uncommon practice on using gift cards for online purchases in case it is helpful to you. I used Randalls/Safeway/Albertson gift cards purchased from Amazon when placing my orders at randalls.com. Later I found out that the same gift card was declined when I tried to use it in store even there was still over $70 balance left on the card. Eventually I found out in my Randalls app that when you used a gift card for online purchase, the entire gift card balance is converted to "Randalls Cash", and "Randalls Cash" can be used for online purchases only not for store purchases. This is a uncommon practice as other retailers I know allow the same gift card being used for both online and in-store purchases such as Walmart, Target, etc. And I was not informed about such a uncommon practice nor asked for confirmation before using my gift cards at randalls.com. I don't order at randalls.com often due to its minimum amount of purchase required for fee waiver. Now I have over$70 gift card balance stuck there.

I don't know if other Safeway family stores have the same uncommon practice on using gift cards online. If you order online very often, this may not affect you. I share this just FYI.
Yep, they did that to me on a $250 GFC and once that is spent, I am never, ever going to Safeway again.

Wonder if I can buy this FreshPass to burn down the GC.

Thanks OP. I shop Albertsons, Tom Thumb and Krogers and shop the sales. This is worth it if you shop there once a month! Wish the $5 would accumulate vs having to spend it every month. I have to say--the phone app and website for Albertsons and Tom Thumb are the worst!

A few months ago my freshpass sub was about to expire. I hit the cancel button in the app and the $49 for 1 year renewal offer popped up.

This sounds great. Now would you choose this over Walmart plus?

No, and that's the reason I'm now keeping W+ only. Before Walmart didn't deliver to my area, and the $5 coupon applied online. (For the last few months I've been forcing myself to go to the store once a month to get the $5 off.)Now with Walmart, I can get cheaper products, with a membership paid for, and I can even add InHome which ends up being cheaper than tipping.

can the $5 credits be accumulated over the 13 month period and cash out at the end or do we have to use it every month else lose it?
sorry, I just bought this as first timer and have no idea how it works.

Yes, the $5 must be used in that calendar month, typically it appears on the 1st of the month to clip (MUST BE CLIPPED EACH MONTH) and is valid to the last day in that month. It will stack with other product specific digital, ie, save $3 on a bag of coffee on sale for $8.99. At the end you'd owe .99 for the coffee if that is all you bought.

However, if you are using a $5/50 digital you'd have to spend $55 for both to hit the order.

In fact, when you sign up, a $5/5 s/b in your account immediately.

Not a fair comparison. You really can do both. Walmart+ is more akin to Amazon Prime.

This offer pays for itself with the credits back (actually you come out $15 ahead over a year)

Obviously the good thing at a supermarket chain is the selection and playing the sales. you can stack this Fresh Pass with all the sale offerings. They often have a $30/75 or even a $40/75 coupon for a delivery or pick up order with special digitial Q sales valid only on PU or delivery orders.

Also, the points you earn, and this is important with they have gift card bonus promos, NEVER expire. I've use the points to get various $20 off $20 digital Q's from buying the gift card sales they run. It's amazing. Typically points expire the following month of earning them, but with FP you can bank and bank them to cash out on the larger point bonuses and they DO stack. Ie, if you have three $20/20 clipped from redeeming points, you can get $60 at once.

Thank you very much for your detailed response. I really appreciate it.

I don't see $5/5 in my account yet. Any specific steps to see/view those?

I typically use my PC vs the app to clip digitals.

when you're logged in and in the Just4U digital panel, along the left side look for "EVENTS" and then click FRESH PASS DEALS. that should bring up all the offers you can clip that are specific to fresh pass membership.

If you don't sign up now, I'd wait until about 11/8 to sign up such that you leave enough time to get the $5/5 credit in November 2026 again and have time to cancel if you don't wish to get another year. If you sign up on 10/31 or 11/1, you'll likely only get the 11/25 $5 credit and not one in 2026 as your year will expire before the Nov 26 credits are available. Best to join from about the 8th-24th of the month to get the 13 credits.

no credit card offers, but if you have a card that pays extra points for grocery purchases, this should apply to those bonus points.
