  • On the barren desert world of Tatooine, young Anakin Skywalker toils by day and dreams by night . . . of traveling the stars to worlds he's only heard of in stories. When Jedi Knight Qui-Gon Jinn and his apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi, cross paths with Anakin, it marks the beginning of the drama that will become legend. Courageous to the point of recklessness, Anakin comes of age in a time of great upheaval. The attempted assassination of Senator Padmé Amidala thrusts the Republic close to the edge of disaster–and brings Anakin and Padmé into a secret romance as intense as it is forbidden.
  • As combat escalates across the galaxy, the stage is set for an explosive endgame. Tormented by unspeakable visions, Anakin edges closer to the brink of a decision with profound ramifications. It remains only for Darth Sidious to strike the final staggering blow against the Republic–and to ordain a fearsome new Sith Lord: Darth Vader.

I've heard the Ep3 book attempts to add more on what motivated Anakin to turn to to the dark side.

ChatGPT with more on this:
Key additions:
  • Inner perspective: Stover frequently writes in present tense and uses second‑person/omniscient passages that show Anakin's fear, rage, pride, and the seductive logic Palpatine uses — making the emotional shift feel gradual and argued rather than only shown in scenes.
  • Expanded Palpatine manipulation: More of Palpatine's rhetorical testing and appeals to Anakin's desire for power and control are included, clarifying why Anakin finds Palpatine persuasive.
  • Anakin and Padmé: The novel gives more of Anakin's private anxieties about Padmé's fate and his conflicting moral reasoning about saving her, deepening his motivation for seeking forbidden power.
  • Moral rationalization: Stover shows Anakin mentally justifying violence and authoritarian solutions (the "dark" as a tempting philosophy), so his final break reads like a cumulative moral collapse.
  • Restored/deleted scenes and altered duel beats: Some scenes and duel details differ or add context that reinforce Anakin's emotional state before key choices.

Love how some people spam everything on Slickdeals claiming it's woke. Jar Jar Binks and woke should not be in the same universe. Maybe that guy was thinking of the Reye one that has a woman lead.

It's great that they made novelizations out of these movies, since the writing of the prequel trilogy was the part everyone liked so much.
