played this a while back and then looked up guides and wow some people go the extra distance not dying the entire run and collecting different weapons

Agreed. I like silksong, but the difficulty needs tweaked so that the game gets steadily more difficult as the game goes on instead of punishing you right away. It can make it a chore to play at times. Hollow Knight feels a bit more balanced.

on top of that, too many very difficult bosses early on that are quite tedious and give no meaningful reward when finally defeated. other fans say they feel "sense of pride and accomplishment" but I just feel bad playing it, even when I make progress. Hollow Knight is the better game to me.
