The problem with AA batteries is about inconsistency. It spins fast and strong with new batteries. But after only a few uses, it slows down noticeably, even though the batteries are still like 90% full.

What color does this come in? Black? Doesn't say and doesn't offer a choice.

Good price to try out. I doubt I will get 4 dollars of use out of it, but I've wanted to try.

No, it isn't. If you use it every day (as I do), you will go through A LOT of batteries. My second one is USB.

Even better is that the whisk is removable (the only thing I don't like about the one I have). Ordered. Thanks.

I'm not suggesting you do this, because I think a rechargeable one is overall better, but you can get rechargeable lithium batteries now that don't have this issue because they have a voltage booster inside. One downside to those is that, because it boosts the voltage, the device thinks the batteries are full until it just suddenly drops dead. However it hasn't proven to be a problem for me in other devices where I use these batteries.
