AirPods Pro 2 with AppleCare plus stands out as a strong value for buyers who want Apple earbuds with warranty coverage and solid everyday noise canceling. The deal is especially appealing for people who do not already own AirPods Pro, and the USB C version has been seen at lower prices before. The main draw is that Pro 3 only feels like a modest step up for some, while others still prefer Pro 2 for balance and comfort. Stock checks can be unreliable, and some in store units may be returns or display pieces, so the deal works best if you can verify condition before leaving.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes. The Pro 3's noise canceling is described as a clear step up, especially for close street noise, calls, and other loud environments. The deeper insertion and foam tips help seal better, though some users still prefer the Pro 2's overall balance and sound tuning.

  • Not always. Some stores show stock online or by phone but are sold out when you arrive, and the available units may be returns or display items. It is worth calling ahead, but the inventory checks can be inaccurate.

  • Trade-in values can be very low: first-gen AirPods Pro were quoted at $0 in one case, while Lightning versions were offered $30. The value depends on how the item is coded at the counter, so the quote may vary by employee.

  • Yes, this deal includes 2 years of AppleCare+ for $150 total. That makes it especially attractive if you do not already own AirPods Pro and want coverage bundled in at a strong price.

  • Yes. A small brush plus micellar water can restore clogged microphones and tips, which can make transparency mode sound normal again and improve ANC performance. This is especially useful if older Pro 2 units have become muffled over time.

These will end up damaging your hearing permanently. If you take lot of calls on the go, then there is no alternative. But for casual use and listening to music, just avoid.
Huh? Please elaborate. Are you playing the audio very loudly? My volume is at 11%.

Same!
Not too happy about it. What I expected: better ANC.
Maybe the sound is a little better, but not worth the cost -like at all for the APP3
Make sure you're using the right ear tips and that they pass the acoustic seal test. Even if they do, try the other tips and go as large as comfort allows so that it seals out more air (and noise). The tips by themselves reduce ambient noise by 5-6 db which is perceived as about 1/3 quieter.I'm surprised at all the people in here saying they can't tell it apart. For me they're almost unsafe how good they are. I have to use transparency more because I can't hear things at all that were very clear with APP2 or AirPods Max. Prior to APP2 I would wear earplugs under my AirPods Max (I'm very noise sensitive) but APP3 had replaced that for me.

I'm a long time huge Apple fan and have disliked their direction the last few years as updates get almost as bad as Android or Microsoft at the start of each release cycle. But I don't agree with any of this.

The noise canceling is way better on APP3 than any other noise canceling headphones on the market. Certainly better than APP2. Comfort is also way better too. I had to adjust to both APP1 and especially 2 rubbing my tragus raw, and used them both for limited periods until my skin toughened. Not so with these, which is interesting given the HR sensor has to be against the ear's skin. I'm not saying it's not happening to you, as comfort is very subjective. But I'd bet if Reddit's search function worked better you'd find posts from the earlier model launches saying the same thing.

The chip is the only thing that didn't change, and there's obviously no need for it to change given what they achieved with the old hardware. The airflow geometry was completely redesigned, the mics used for NC were upgraded, and the algorithms were retrained on all of that. If you care about NC at all (or the health of your ears) you'd see this is a huge upgrade.

Your focus on hardware makes me think you'd be better served in the Android camp. Apple isn't about the highest end hardware. It's about providing the best experience.
Dont teach me about Apple vs Android.

Ive owned every generation of iPhone, nearly every meaningful generation of iPad, and every generation of AirPods Max.

The APP3 is a half baked product using a 4 year old chip that boasts its improvement in ANC due to the foam tips

It's not even about the price, they are a clear downgrade from the APP2 from a vast majority of long time AirPods Pro users.

I have multiple headphones over 1k with just the DAC/AMP set ups over another 1k - the new tuning was so horrendous they reverted back to a tuning shape closer to the APP2 in the most recent upgrade based on audio charts.

Sometimes if you don't know what you are talking about it's best to stay in your lane and stay quiet that way you wont be confusing those who aren't as well versed in tech as others or embarrassing yourself

I don't mean to pick sides, and I'm seeing a lot of Reddit reviews agreed with you. Most users think AirPods 2 Pro way better than the 3 Pro. I'm grabbing one for myself today.

I did this morning and still heard more sounds than seemingly expected.

It's pretty much a lock for me that V2's are better at ANC. It's okay though, the features and
integration with Apple gear is clutch.

Don't bother. The Costco app has a special page to check warehouse inventory. I have gone to 4 different Costcos, called ahead too, they say it's in stock. But when I show up and ask, the employees at the store say all sold out.

I purchased the APP3 and am really conflicted on whether to return them, because I also own the APP2.
At first I hated the fit on the APP3 but I think I just needed time to adjust or for the foam tips to adjust. It's not as bad now.
and I like the deeper bass.

But overall I can't tell if I'm wasting my money since the APP2 still work just fine. I'd say the biggest difference I notice is the 3 has better ANC and bass / slightly different sound profile that sounds a bit… sharper at times, maybe? At least for the highs? But I'm not audiophile.

My concern is that the audio cancelation is almost TOO good. With APP2, I could still hear things with adaptive mode enabled. On APP3, even with adaptive on, it almost seems dangerous with its ability to cancel out noise; I can't hear myself as well as I used to (like the sound of walking outside, or even when I begin to talk). I was walking my dog yesterday with adaptive turned on and could barely hear nearby traffic and when I spoke to my dog I couldn't hear my voice as clearly as I can with APP2.
I'm truly conflicted on what to do because the ANC mode is definitely nice when it's safe to use (I can imagine on airplanes it'll block out much more noise for example) but I feel like in some ways I do kinda prefer the APP2 in terms of the balance it had…

What would you guys do? Should I keep them or return the APP3 and stick to the APP2? My only concern with keeping the APP2 is that the battery will start to drain faster and now that I've gotten used to the fit of the APP3 (which I did also get on sale) it might be weird switching back to them

I'm a gen 1 owner. Which would you buy as an upgrade?
Also a gen 1 owner. I'm getting these for the following reasons:
  1. USB-C
  2. 2x ANC
  3. Improved battery life
  4. U1 - Enhanced findmy
  5. Conversation awareness
Why I'm not getting AAP3, complaints of noise when not listening to music and 'bloodgate'. Was considering them just for the superior ANC but looks like there were a lot of complaints about fit for some.

What's the return policy for this? I don't see 90 days, just a regular Costco return.

They have messed with dynamic range of the lows, mids, and highs on gen 3. They don't sound as good as gen 2.
True. I have Gen 2s and bought the Gen 3 and am very disappointed. The sound quality isn't as good and the Gen 3 are super uncomfortable. Going to be taking the 3s back if I can. Don't buy in to the marketing hype.
