... for the SC1034. The chart says I need SC1032 - I'm tempted to be stubborn and try to make this fit.

Odd, there is not even a version that will work on 255/50 R20 on that massive chart of theirs.

My guess is people who live where chains might be needed are not running those wheels and tires, they're using a winter setup with more sidewall.

What safety chain would you recommend for doing 95 MPH

Searchable version (control + F) of the chart
https://m.media-amazon.com/images...rvdO2L.pdf

FWIW, not sure how much tolerances are built in to these sizes. For example, my wife's tires are 215/65-17 where mine are 225/60-17, many of the chain sizes are listed as the same between the two but not the "Radial" SKU's for some reason. Per AI the difference between those tires are 5mm, 10mm, and 10mm. I'm going to risk one set to (maybe) serve both cars. Needing snow chains in central NC is a few and far between thing regardless so worst case we'll risk wrecking her whip.
P.S. Can I get away with one set on a 4WD or should I buy two? Not like I have ever needed snow tires in my life (normally 2 days after a heavy snow it is 70F...but you never know )

I've used these for 20 years. Correction, I've had these as part of my North East winter gear for 20 years and used them about 3 times.

They are decent for people who run all seasons and only occasionally have to make it through a difficult patch of deep snow / packed snow / ice.

- They are about as easy as it can get to put on and off.
- You're not going to want to run them more than you need. I'd rather take them off in crap weather than run them extra distance home.

For most situations they aren't necessary, kitty litter, a portable shovel, and intelligence can get you through. But these have come in handy for the last mile to some ski resorts and making it home in a rare multi-year storm sitch.

When I went to Lake Tahoe during a snow storm... the police stopped you from driving up the mountains if you did not have chains. And when they stop you there were multiple people who were willing to sell you some for a price.
To me... this is where chains are needed. The cops did let all 4wheel drive SUV's go by without chains.

winter setup? The only winter setup I know is winter tires and winter tires have the winter tire STAMP. And any winter tire will do better then chains. And there are plenty of options if you have the 255/50/20... but maybe not from this company. The chains are made large enough to be used on 18/24 wheelers.
