How fresh should it be? Also, if the packs are stored in the freezer would that extend their freshness?

Normally? You want coffee that's been roasted about 1-2 weeks out. When I get Red Rooster deliveries, it's often 3-4 days from roasting. Coffee that's been on a shelf for 4-6 months (like most of this) will be okay for drip coffee makers. Putting sealed coffee in the freezer will substantially extend its life - often by several months (I've stored some for up to 4 months with minimal degradation, but I usually get it fresh so ymmv).

This is a decent deal considering the brand name and the ever rising cost of the coffee as a result of this great economy!
Alongside this, it is tiring to read comments or concerns about "freshness, best by dates, roasting dates, etc". From my own observations of roasting dates/best by dates, the brands would normally have a 2 year bracket. Now, you have accept facts and reality for when you are ordering coffee especially Online and even walking into a physical store! You have to be lucky enough to receive your coffee as close to the roast date or as far as it's best by date. After roasting, by the time these are shipped and makes it into the inventory of vendors, it's already at least a week or more old from it's roast date. Then, you add to that when the vendor receives the new shipment, they are still trying to get rid of the older inventory. So new ones sit in inventory for a while.
Therefore, if you expect to receive a days old from roast date coffee, don't order Online, don't walk into a physical store! Go to where it's being roasted and just buy yourself a fresh roast coffee beans! In my experience, so far the closest to the roast date I've ever receive, regardless of brand is about a month or two from when it was roasted. And even this perhaps won't pass freshness if people expect to receive theirs days from roasting date.
Stick to the facts and be real with your expectations! Thanks!

Soso deal at best imo. 32 ounces = 2 pound bags. I usually get them at Costco for 15-20 bucks.
