I said it on the Walmart one, and I will say it here. All of these prices are just the normal prices that the items would be before the tariffs. And, when you make Black Friday the entire month, instead of a single day, the deals stop being as good.

While I agree somewhat, I kinda prefer smaller, more focused sales where it's clear what's marked down, rather than everything in the whole world being on "sale" at once like Prime Day/Black Friday. Just personal preference, but I don't mind when things are spaced out a bit.

I actually worked at a Macy's during Black Friday, and our sales were not very good. We also totally overpriced out clothing. $480 for a women's sweater, and $3,000 for a purse is just insane.

They should call it Brown November because most of these month-long deals are dog poo.

Markups on clothing are ridiculous. Worked in retail. Half off is a meh deal. It's not gold. Only goes down in value

Retailers were wanting to get away from Black Friday for years but they couldn't. Walmart couldn't not have one for fear of Target having one and everyone shopping at Target.

Covid was the catalyst they all needed to end BF as it used to be and to evolve into basically eliminating it and giving us a month of "deals" that they give us every month.

Agree, that is why I don't buy new clothes.

Though, for most people, they know they are paying for convenience. I mean, the alternative is to make them if you don't want to play the pre-owned bargain hunt.
