Anyone savvy enough to replace their blades may be interested in replacing the rubber on their existing blades. $8 gets you 56" of rubber [amazon.com] and, despite being my first go at it last weekend, took all of 15 minutes to get the 3 wipers on my car.

Got one side wiper on the deal 3 weeks ago. got another side this time. But as it was posted above^^^, will do the rubber replacement as soon as I run out of these replacements, which is likely 5+ years down the road? Big Grin

So if you mix and match this length will likely get you 2.5-3 wipers worth of rubber? A "sale" price on the set vs full price on the rubber for ~60% cost saving vs time convenience, and arguably factory fit? Something to think about!
Edit: the link actually goes to a 4x28'' set, which shifts my calculation to 75% savings?

Not a bad idea, but why is it?"Frequently returned due to compatibility issues and poor fit"?

I just installed 2 I got for my Sienna. Took less than 5 min for both with the help of a flat screwdriver to remove old ones. They clean good during testing. Let's see how they perform during the rain.

Some wiper blade makers have a different size gaps, so if the replacement is too thick or too thin it won't fit.
I used to take last years wiper, pull out the rubber, cut off a few inches and reuse it to replace the rubber on my back window that rarely gets used. Because it was such a strange size the replacement blade was always like $30 or more.

Reusing the metal frame of a wiper blade often reduces its ability to adhere properly to the windshield.

That's been my experience on trying to refill just the rubber itself too. Some frames just won't take the new blade. I guess that's maybe why you can't get refills that include the rigid support built into the blade anymore. Oh, that and manufacturer greed.
