The Barebone price is $5 off than the currenMini PCt FP deal. However, I think the 64GB + 1TB modeli sthe most attractive as no other Mini PC is being offered with that much of Ram at this price point. On top of that, the current Ram price hike, this is a great option if you need 64GB Ram for your requirements.

SSD is SATA. Expect under 500MB/sec.

I don't know what the standard for these mini pcs is, but a great call out nonetheless. In other words, I'm not sure if NVME is usually on these small form factors.

Starting to look at these and I'm glad you pointed this out. But I wonder if SATA is fine for anything other than large data transfers?

SATA is standard for cheaper models, but I've seen NVME on some better ones. Couldn't tell you if it would be standard at this price.
If you're using it for something like data analysis then you'll want something faster. I'm not sure what the use case is for a relatively fast CPU, 64GB of RAM and no ability (at least not easily) to add a GPU. It's overkill for most day-to-day use.

Guys it's an NVME drive. The product page clearly says: "M.2 2280 slot*2 for NVMe PCIe 3.0/4.0 SSD( does not support SATA SSD, up to 4 TB)".

It supports NVME but it comes with SATA (the non-barebones models). See the bottom of the page under Memory and Storage:

I stand potentially corrected. I guess it's a mystery. One of those things is wrong.

I don't see where it says does not support SATA SSD. I do note that there is another inconsistency: in most places in the listing it says 4xm.2, but in one place it says 2xm.2.

Concerning the SSD, there are 2 sets of system specs listed on this page for some reason. A 6900HX version (the default) and a 8945HS version (if you click over to it).

Under storage for the 6900HX:
512GB: 512GB M.2 2280 SATA SSD
1TB: 1TB M.2 2280 SATA SSD
Under storage for the 8945HS
M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD,
M.2 2280 slot*2 for NVMe PCIe 3.0/4.0 SSD( does not support SATA SSD, up to 4 TB)

Thanks for clarifying that, that's a poorly laid out web page. OK, I withdraw my earlier statement where I said it was a SATA SSD.
