It's one of extremely few wall adapters that can maintain 140W output indefinitely. Pretty much every other "140W" adapter will overheat and throttle down to 100W or less after 10-30 minutes.
If you have a powerful laptop and do any kind of prolonged CPU + GPU intensive tasks, an adapter that can maintain 140W indefinitely is a must.

Not a fan of wall adapters. They need to have a removeable AC cord.

Only Apple can charge $100 or even $50 for this monstrosity of an adapter which doesn't stay in majority of outlets and has only 1 output port

Ya I'd have to agree with this, even not being an Apple fan. I can't argue they do at least have pretty damn good chargers.
Another I would also consider https://frame.work/products/16-po...FRANCR000B
They also have a 240w version on preorder if that is of interest to anyone. Also a 60w for $55.

I'm not an Apple apologist, but this is a good price for a 140w charger that will continuously put out that much. I do absolutely hate their design though. The smallest bump and that shit gets unplugged.

I have the below thinkpad 130W USB-C charger, you saying that will throttle too?

https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/ac...x21h27800?

I'm curious now.

This one says only up to 29W, will this work?

Yea, that works. the 29w is a type/model of adapter that Apple makes, not the limit of this cable. The adapter in OP is a MagSafe adapter and this extension cable works with it,

Legit question, why do they call that compact? It's a regular laptop sized charger

Is this the same charger that was included with M1 MacBook Pro?

CUKTECH 15 can charge my Rog Zephyrus 16 by 140w continuously but does drop after 10 mins for MacBook pro. So feels like Apple just limits 3rd party chargers.

Every time I see this come up I post it. I'm an Apple repair Tech and repair for my organization which is almost exclusively Apple based. It hasn't been A LOT of times that I've ran into fake Apple chargers from amazon, but it has been enough that we don't buy any from Amazon anymore. As a repair tech, during repairs, the diagnostics, in order to pass, require official Apple products. Personally, I'd probably roll the dice if I needed one. This will power any Macbook product currently out, unless I'm unaware of some monster laptop I've not personally touched yet.

I kept the charger from my 2010 MBP all these years, not realizing that it could be detached and fitted on the brick of my 2017 MBP and, now, my M4 Pro MBP.

I knew it could be detached but didn't think to try it on the modern power bricks to use as an extension cable. Could be wrong....
