Sony's DualSense Edge is a premium PS5 and PC controller best known for its adjustable hair triggers, swappable stick modules, and strong back button feel. The shape and weight draw praise, and the ability to replace sticks is a real advantage if drift shows up. The main drawback is battery life, which is often described as short, and the $20 replacement modules and high asking price make the value harder to justify. It feels like a specialized controller for players who will use its extra features.

For one controller? This should be the price of the entire console.

Is this better than a xbox elite2 ?
Hate to say it, but yes. Got the Elite2 first, loved it...still do. But also got this one just to see if it was worth it, after the regular PS5 controller hurt my hands after extended play. It's the best controller on the market. I keep mine plugged in...you will find the main complaint on these is battery life. Other than that, Sony hit a home run with this controller. Elite2 is great, this one is excellent. -Xbot Wink Edit: Price is showing $185 for me.

I feel out of the loop. $175 for a controller? Does it come with some games or something?
Also out of the loop. I've never seen a controller be MSRP $200, why does it cost so much? What features or design is making it $200?

Lol @ a company that refuses to use Hall Effects. Your controller keeps breaking? Buy a new controller!
Came here to say just this. When we see other manufacturers offering them in $20-40 controllers there is NO EXCUSE to not use hall effect sensors for the sticks at this price point. Similarly it's insulting the new switch does not utilize them either.

My favorite FPS controller. I have a few regular DS5s, a few modded with back paddles and plenty of old DS4s (with the back button attachment) from years gone by.
The Edge has the best shape (for me), good weight, rock solid back button actuation and I play wired anyway so battery life is not a concern.

What's even more insulting is that we solved this problem more than two decades ago. The Sega Dreamcast controllers used Hall Effects. Mine still work.

Not in my opinion, battery life is far better on the elite two. I don't have drift on this or the elite 2. But this one is somewhat better if you do because you can easily swap out the stick.

Too bad Sony doesn't sell hall effect replacement sticks for this...

got one for $150 open box at walmart (It was sealed but the box had a cut from a box-cutter). I like it well enough, battery life is ass, but I play wired most of the time anyways (PC). I prefer Sony controllers over Xbox due to dpad placement but this one has a weird squeak that my regular ps5 controllers dont. backpaddles are neat and on steam you can actually set inputs to the Fn keys so you can have more inputs to bind. Wouldn't recommend paying more than what I did.
