This game was initially announced as a free to play, they changed the price later on to $40. I won't be buying for any more than $20. Also the studio is owned by Nexon, which isn't super well advertised because they have a bad reputation (esp in the extraction game community)
Most unbiased username. You played Tarkov for free too, right?
Embark Studios is a great publisher. They're communicative, involved and listen to their community. They're ex DICE devs from the BF golden age and have shown their attention and fair practices with The Finals already.
This game is being dubbed as "Tarkov for people with jobs" and I plan to enjoy it.

To add onto this, Embark made the change so that there wouldn't be a push for silly paid skins that wouldn't fit the theme or pay to win mechanics. And in a world with publishers wanting to start charging more than $70, this thing is $40, which should help against cheaters over it being ftp. And unlike Tarkov, they've been working on this game for years and decided to release it when they felt it was done, instead of having a game in Beta for 10 years

You'll enjoy for like a week tops until the sweats take over and you get killed as soon as you spawn.

To be fair what they were working on for years was a PvE free to play game called Arc Raiders. Once finished they made the decision that the game they had made was "not fun" (their words not mine) and randomly slapped on PvP and released it as a $40 game.

Based on the playtests the issue in this game specifically is not often (though it does happen) getting killed where you spawned but normally getting killed by organized groups camping the limited extraction points when you try to leave.

You have a point - this might be true as I had a similar experience with The Finals (and Rematch), but that took 3 or so seasons and it's strictly PvP. Even still, with their options to avoid wipes and more approachable mechanics, it is still less sweaty by nature than Tarkov (which I played).
