It's lightweight and easy to wield for most people. Breaking it down the parts are simpler than older models. They have replaced the brush head with a detangling style which makes hair pickup easier and you need not worry about hair wrapping around the brush requiring extra cleaning work.
Power wise, it doesn't feel as strong but it's ability to pick up hair and dust is robust. But see, we're right back at this tiny collection canister which means it will have to be emptied more frequently.
At the time of my purchase there was a deal for a refurb, Dyson v15(?) the model with a detection laser. Between the two, I would have rather had that one. Seeing dust makes the difference. All other specs are similar.
If you're considering the purchase, I don't recommend. I know I will get bored of this model and look for a deal on something closer to the latest. My sib bought all the newest ones, they have all sorts of new tech and larger coll. canisters! Larger almost like a bazooka. Hefty, they gave them weight again.
