Apple Watch Ultra 3 stands out as a rugged, cellular Apple Watch with strong ecosystem features, quick wireless charging, and the freedom to call, text, and use data without a nearby phone. Costco's 90 day return window and in store availability add deal appeal, and the included Ocean band can fit small wrists despite sizing concerns on other bands. The main tradeoff is size and weight, which can feel bulky for daily wear or running, and battery life is still a concern for longer fitness use. A solid option if you want the Ultra experience and can live with the bulk.
Daily Apple ecosystem users who want cellular independence, because it supports calls, texts, and data without a nearby phone.
The Ultra 3 can feel heavy and bulky on the wrist, especially for trail running and longer runs. It may move around unless the band is very tight, so it suits shoppers who prioritize the larger case and cellular features over a slimmer feel.
The deal can reportedly be improved by price matching Best Buy and stacking an Amex offer for $25 off $250. Military and veterans may also get the exchange price without tax, and some shoppers compare Costco's $699.99 to Swappa or Amazon before buying.
Costco's return window for this product is 90 days from receipt. Price adjustments are reportedly available for 30 days, and some shoppers mention a workaround of buying another and returning it under the older receipt within 90 days.
Battery life is enough for many daily uses, but longer runs may require tweaks or Low Power Mode. One trail-run example on a Series 8 lasted 25 miles barely, with a suggestion that Low Power Mode can help for runs above roughly 35-40 miles.
The Costco Ocean Black Ultra shipment can include the one-size Ocean band, and that band fit a small wrist in one reported purchase. The band size matched a prior Apple Watch Series 4 band size for that buyer.
Wow folks, are you all still buying Apple Watch Ultra? My Ultra 1 is collecting dust.
I'll take it off your hands(wrist) for you if you don't like it and don't use it. I'll even do you a solid, I'll take it off your hands for FREE, you don't even have to pay me anything. Sound like a deal?
What should I get this, wait for a deal on ultra 2, series 10 or the se3 on sale right now at Costco? Just need something for accurate calorie burn, pickleball and weight lifting calories burned. I like the look of the ultra 3 but feel like it's overkill. Also want nice aftermarket case options. TIA
This or Garmin Venu X1? On many comparison websites, they are putting Garmin Venu X1 way above Apple Watch Ultra 3, besides Venu X1 looks stunning and not as bulky as this watch, it's really the thinnest Garmin watch I've ever seen.
it depends how you use it - they both have their advantages:
Garmin has 2x the battery life, but few general purpose apps. If you want to count your steps it's fine, but if you want to order Domino's it's not going to happen.
Apple has most of the apps in the Apple ecosystem and a cellular connection so you can use it without a phone nearby to stay connected with calls/texts/data with a watch data plan.
While Apple watches require more frequent charging, the charging is quicker quicker and easier than with Garmin watches. I can put my Apple watch on a wireless charger before showering and by the time I'm dressed it's charged. Garmin watches usually require a proprietary cable and an hour+ to fully charge.

I only ever charge my garmin during showers and it's slower but it's still at 80% and gets to 92-95 before it repeats again the next day

Are you saying you only shower once a week or that you are unemployed/retired and have enough free time to charge a watch every day whose battery lasts more than a week?
I'm tempted but also really like buying from Apple and using the Apple Card's 0% interest free payments + 5% reward. I may have to see if Apple will drop prices for BF.
Apple typically do not offer discounts at all for current gen products, other than refurbished.

Is this a joke 700 for a watch isn't the iPhone 17 this price and then you need a 700 watch to track your work out because yeah it means a ton you burned that many calories and tracked your work or time. Been jogging for many years and never needed a watch to figure I was running a 5 minute mile. My watch with my heart rate, steps etc tracks all of that and helps for my panic attacks $100 bucks out the door and works great, 700 are you kidding me for an apple logo.

Costco supports price adjustments for 30 days, and it can extend up to 90 days with a return using an older receipt.
Costco returns can be accepted within 90 days, which helps when buying the Ultra 3 as a gift.
The Apple Watch Ultra charging experience can be quicker and easier with a wireless charger than Garmin's proprietary cable.
Some Costco shipments include the "One size" Ocean band, and that band size can fit smaller wrists.
The Ultra can feel heavy during everyday wear, which can make it harder to forget you are wearing it.
The Ultra can move a lot when running unless the band is super tight, which may require frequent adjustment.
Battery life expectations can be weaker for running use, and friends using it for running report it not lasting long enough.
Band sizing availability can be frustrating because most bands are listed as the largest size in their types.

Additional 5% (or 6%) off with Prime card but only 15 days to return vs. 90 days at Costco.
I'll take the AMZ deal and hold on to it to see if prices drop lower anywhere within return window.
