I have this (bought refurbished from a previous deal this year at $239). Great unit, big enough to power most things for a fair amount, but small enough to be easily portable for short distances.

Have several of these, they hit the sweet spot for most electronics as a point of use backup. Laptops run for a few hours, fan overnight, router for days, TV for an evening, etc.

I bought 4 of these when they were $219 and they appeared to be brand new and have performed flawlessly.

I think this is the only one with serious output (at least 600w) that can be charge via USB C, I don't think any of the river 3 can do that. Maybe someone can prove me wrong... I like mine, got it last year, so tempted but I don't really need one...

Sorry if this is a silly question. It says 768wh, but then said it can run a 50 watt heated blanket for 10 hours. Is that just due to the loss going from DC to AC?

Yes for the most part. It also takes power to run the unit itself.

In one article a runtime estimate: It says the RIVER 2 Pro will run a 50″ TV for about 5 hours.

Another user report: Someone with a 32″ LED TV (≈60 W draw) said they got about 9-10 hours from the unit.
You can estimate runtime roughly using the
Battery capacity: ~ 768 Wh
But real‐world efficiency/inverter losses reduce usable capacity (perhaps 80-90% or even lower). One forum says actual might be ~550-650 Wh.
Estimate TV power draw: A "typical LED TV" could be anywhere from ~30-150 Watts depending on size, settings, model, back‐light, etc.

Example: If TV uses 60 W, and you assume usable capacity ~600 Wh

Seems the power switchover is 30ms, not quite fast enough for PC UPS usage.

I read somewhere the switchover time is quicker if you have enough power draw - for 2 computers, plus direct attached storage, networkingand POE wifi access points it has not had any problems through several power outages keeping my systems up. Not sure if it's because the switchover time is <30 ms or if my devices can just handle that long of a switchover time. I'm pulling almost 200 watts.

I paid 239 for one and 259 for the other and was extremely happy with the amount of power I got out of them for the price. Thinking of grabbing a third.
