I think these plastic fabric shelves are junky. That's why it's cheap. They have one with metal tubes shelves for more.

Bro, we bought this or something like it a couple years ago. It works well enough. but...
I get half of 1 shelf and 2 pair of boots down at floor level. I still have to keep my work shoes and my normal shoes off the rack. We have some over-the-door shoe holders full of her stuff too. Plus a couple shoe trays full at the other 2 doors.

but the rifle i leave on the kitchen counter is apparently the real problem...

My wife has like 15 pairs of shoes and the closet was crazy. Getting this saved us so much space and I went from just 2 pairs of shoes over 4 years to now having about 12 myself. It's cheap material but unless you have a bunch of steel toe boots, should hold just about everything.
