Is this worth the extra money compared to the version with the Intel Ultra 9 275HX 'laptop' processor with SODIMM ram?

CPU+GPU is 1500 bucks alone. I went ahead and upgraded even though I typically build my own pcs. 3 year on site repair/warranty was only 67 dollars. Great peace of mind. Seems like a solid deal if they can deliver a working PC. Worth the gamble imo

yes, the laptop CPU cannot do any upgrade and X3d is more suitable for gaming

"The key differences are the CPU (Zen 4 vs. Zen 5 architecture) and RAM speed. For pure gaming, the 9800X3D + 6000MHz setup wins handily- expect 15-18% higher average FPS overall at 1080p/1440p (where CPU matters most), with even bigger gains in CPU-bound scenarios like esports or simulation games. At 4K, the gap shrinks to ~5-10% since the GPU becomes the bottleneck."

6000MHz ram + 9800X3D still better for gaming.
