  • About this deal:
    • This offer is $10 more than our most recent previous frontpage deal from September which garnered over 30 thumbs up. However, considering the recent surge in RAM prices, I would consider this a trivial increase. An older previous frontpage deal from August garnered over 30 thumbs up at $1279.
  • About this product:
    • Rated 4.4 out of 5 stars based on 133 Lenovo customer reviews.

This or an x1 carbon, decisions decisions...

And 64 RAM, you're not wrong but programs and Windows are only getting more memory hungry, not less...

I snagged the 32GB on sale two weeks ago but with the IPS 60HZ panel, might as well return and get this one to save a bit and get much better screen, double the RAM. 64GB is overkill but the deal is too good to pass up especially for the OLED adaptive refresh screen.

I wish processor was 9HX 370.

I'm comparing with Costco deal on IdeaPad pro 5i for $999.99 .

Comparing both turn out Costco Deal is better apart from 32GB less memory for extra $200....I like 14 inch but 16 OLED give so much real estate..

The P14s Gen 6 for is better for its keyboard, upward firing speakers and built-in RJ45 ethernet jack.

Everything is fantastic for the price except for that 52 Wh battery again. Really wish they would put one of these out with a larger capacity battery.

In the case of 14" thinkpads (T/P14s/X1C), the non-OLED non-touch screen is actually the preferable display option, but not the mass market LCD with limited colors, the preferred display is the low power screen option. Those are flicker-free with no PWM usage and around 100% color coverage. Thinkpad OLEDs have low hz flicker at 60hz and use PWM to dim instead of DC which can cause significant eye strain over when used for a while. OLED tech is fine for glancing at your phone or watching some TV or a movie on a TV, but is a poor choice if you sit in front of your PC for any length of time. Plus there's the issue of burn in on an inherently static PC desktop. Plus there's the issue of significantly worse battery life than LCD options. Also, stay away from any privacy screen TP model.

I need it for my software development and AI work. But 14 inch screen is too small. Hopefully the 16 will go on sale soon.

Not sure why there are downvotes for this individual. More RAM has been proven to have no performance benefit unless you actually can use it. Unless you are a super-power user and run multiple VMs at the same time all the time, there is almost no use case where 64GB RAM is either necessary or helpful for performance in 2025. 5-10 years from now that might be a different story, but you won't be using this PC then most likely. It's a waste of money today, especially since memory upgrades are cheaper if adding your own module.

Needs like 20Wh more battery. I hate that Lenovo does this to these laptops. It's not like they're thin and light, either. They have a smaller battery than a 13" MacBook Air.

I've also heard bad things about the MediaTek card they use.

Other than these gripes, ThinkPads are usually a great option for Linux.

If you search on here for Thinkpad P16s, you'll see that different models have gone on sale multiple times like this model with 64gb RAM.https://slickdeals.net/f/18754399

If you ask this question, you don't need a laptop you're probably fine with an iPad or a Chromebook.

These are fantastic machines! I bought one last year and immediately added a 5G WWAN card that was plug and play. Having instant on Internet everywhere I went without having to tether was a game changer. Sadly, I'm having to sell now (just listed) because I'm forced to macOS for programming purposes.

Arguably this screen is hands down better than macpros I'm currently using.

If anyone purchases a WWAN card it will set you back about $250-300ish but worth it!!! (Unless you find a great deal on one🤣)

I was seeing about 2.5-3hrs of battery under different/heavy usage with full brightness And WWAN on (and only charged to 80%). As everyone has mentioned the battery is the Achilles heel but definitely manageable if charging to 100% and utilizing power saving measures
