This ThinkPad P16s Gen 4 looks like a portable workstation built around a sharp 4K OLED touch screen, 64GB of memory, and a large battery for business, development, and travel use. The Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350 is described as efficient rather than fast, but the integrated graphics and x86 compatibility fit legacy apps, Linux, and memory heavy workloads well. The main drawbacks are the lack of a dedicated GPU, no second M.2 slot, and some concern about hybrid graphics stability and battery life. The price also looks only fair versus earlier lower listings, making it a solid niche machine if those tradeoffs fit.
traveling professionals who want a durable portable workstation and don't need a dedicated GPU because they're running older legacy apps that are RAM intensive, since commenters called it a "perfect use case for a travel rig."
business/corporate users who need a strong screen and lots of memory but don't require a dedicated GPU, because commenters described the ThinkPad P16s as a portable workstation for corporate needs with higher memory requirements than typical media devices.
software developers who plan to install Linux right away, because one commenter said it's a "great laptop for software development" and that they're going to Linux immediately.
buyers who specifically value x86 compatibility plus a great screen, lots of RAM, and potentially long battery life (even if they're not chasing top-end performance), because commenters said the Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350 is the same chip used in cheaper laptops and that the main value is the platform and display/memory rather than exceptional performance.
buyers who are comparing this against a better deal during Black Friday or who want a "great" discount versus prior pricing, because commenters said the price is only "decent but not particularly great" compared to the model's earlier ~$1,200 pricing and expected ~$1,100 Black Friday drop.
people expecting workstation-class performance with a dedicated GPU, because commenters said they "don't get who this laptop is for" given the relatively weak processor and the lack of a dedicated GPU.
anyone who wants easy internal storage expansion beyond the included SSD, because commenters noted there's no second M.2 slot and they'd want to swap for higher storage if that were available.
buyers who will rely on hybrid graphics switching for stability and battery life, because one commenter said their older Legion 5 sometimes crashed in hybrid video mode (integrated/dedicated switching) and they kept Nvidia on all the time, which increased power use and worsened battery life.

Tempting deal for me to come from a 5-year old Legion 5 which still runs fine, but since it sometimes crashed when running in the hybrid video mode (where it switches between integrated and dedicated video), I keep the Nvidia on all the time at the expense of increased power consumption/worse battery life.
Great screen, large battery and lots of ram but relatively weak processor and no dedicated gpu.
I guess that is why it is on sale

ThinkPad is one of the oldest and most iconic lines of laptops, originally designed and sold by IBM in the 90es (that's in the previous century). These are portable workstations for business/corporate users, who don't need a dedicated GPU, but expect a nice screen and have higher memory requirements than a typical meedia consumption device. These laptops are extremely durable, reliable and can take a beating of frequent travel. NASA astronauts used them in spaceships for research and calculations, IBM used to donate them to archeologists working in the field as a promotion. These laptops have been a staple in large companies for many years, until HP and Dell decided to get into the corporate market, but ThinkPads are still going strong, Lenovo kept up the quality of this line after buying the laptop business from IBM.
So basically the people who are getting this need x86, great screen, lots of memory, and great battery life which is a small niche
