This has helped reduce my bald spot. I'd highly suggest the foaming kind. It costs more but the liquid version made my scalp itchy and was more annoying to apply. This only works if the hair follicles are still alive and will need to be used perpetually to keep the results.

Thanks for the warning. This is technically not toxic. Minoxidil is blood pressure medicine, so it's gonna drop their blood pressure extremely low if ingested. Touching this won't directly hurt, but they do lick themselves so end up ingesting it.
I'm lucky that my cat doesn't even eat meat if it 's not perfectly seasoned to his liking, let alone some odd bitter stuff like this

It works well for keeping and thickening the hair you still have, but you have to be patient - months not weeks. The itching some experience is due to one of the inactive ingredients; for me, the itching mostly went away after a few years of use. Dandruff shampoo helps with the itching.

This stuff does work, but it's not an overnight fix. Last winter my barber pointed out a bald spot on my head, so I started using this.
It took about 6 months for it to look normal again.
The other thing is consistency. It can be a pain, but you have to use it twice a day.
I've had some busy mornings or evenings when I've been really tired and forgotten, but for the most part I've been consistent with it.
I think a lot of people expect a quick fix and when they don't see results in a month or two they assume that it doesn't work.

I got shortness of breath/wheezing in the middle of the night after using this for about 2 weeks. I was using the recommended 1mg 2x/day. Apparently even the topical can have adverse side [webmd.com] effects like this. I didn't mind the itchy, irritated scalp so much. Not worth the hassle after all that. After I stopped, some blisters and irritation from my scalp took a few days to clear and the shortness of breath went away immediately.

Dermatologist recommended this over oral because of side effects. Definitely not messing with the pill.

I like this better than the foam because it's hard to get the foam to the actual scalp if you still have hair in the area it just gets on the hair. The oral one causes vasodilation all over your body so I got heart palpitations. I use this once a day out of convenience and find it to be the least irritating out of all the brands that I bought. (not as sticky so it runs so apply in small drops and rub in quickly). As for shipping doesnt matter what else you are buying the 6 for this on shipping will always be 6. But even with shipping this is an amazing deal for a 6 month supply. (liquid is never stocked in actual stores only online).
This will do 3 things depending on your luck. 1. Nothing. 2. Prevent hair loss from worsening 3. Cause new hair growth
You have to use it forever or you will lose the results you have gained.
