I might be a bad use case since this drive isn't anywhere near fully and mostly used for OS, application, and some games...However, I'm still getting around the advertised speeds of ~7300 MB/s read and ~6400 MB/s write after nearly 3 of use

You can follow these instructions from a Reddit post covering the process to update the firmware. It was a fairly painless process.

That said, if you can snag a deal for a Samsung 990 Pro, Crucial T500, or WD Black SN850X, for around this price or slightly more, I'd say that would likely be the better find than this drive. However, even if the write speeds do drop, I doubt most people would notice that unless they are doing extremely heavy writing tasks like video or photo editing.
it's a real shame. the p31 was one of the best gen3 drives you could buy and the p41 looked like it would be the same
