This 6.5 quart HDX tote is a compact, stackable bin that works best for small parts and other tightly grouped items. It fits everything from electrical and plumbing hardware to cables, drill bits, medicine cabinet items, makeup, and craft supplies, and the clear version makes contents easy to see from the sides. The plastic is described as thicker and stronger than cheaper Sterilite bins, but the small size, space inefficient shape, and lids that can crack or buckle under weight are the main drawbacks. It is a handy little organizer if the capacity is enough.
Common Questions (5)
It works well for small parts and organized odds-and-ends like electrical fittings, plumbing pieces, makeup, shower steamers, shampoo bars, cables, drill bits, and zip ties. The clear version lets you see contents from the sides without labels.
The plastic is noticeably thicker and stronger than many Sterilite bins, and the shape stacks better for hardware and small parts. The lid can buckle under weight and some lids crack easily, so it is better for light-to-medium storage than heavy loads.
It is small enough that some shoppers consider it for chest-freezer organization, but the plastic is not confirmed as food-grade. A freezer-bag liner inside the tote is one workaround for food-related use.
It measures about 6.20 inches high, 12.90 inches wide, and 8.10 inches deep. The footprint is compact, so it fits small-item storage better than bulky pantry or freezer loads.
It can off-gas for weeks after purchase, with the smell becoming noticeable again when the bin is reopened after being sealed. The odor is minimal when closed, but it may be a problem if you want to store sensitive items right away.

Seems like these are unnecessarily bulky and 25% more expensive for virtually no extra capacity...

The sterilites go on sale for like less than a dollar with a lid at target like once a quarter though so if you play the scaling game the choice is easy on the price, but you can't stack the sterilites more than 3 high before one of them has a mishap. The lids are of poor quality, but will work with the right imagineering, but buckle pretty quickly under weight.. the sterilites are also easier to write on. Big visible flat spots.
The sterilites are frankly flimsy. This doesn't really matter for most things that would fit in a 6.5 qt container. Fill it with screws or bolts though. The yellow tops handle the bolts much better than the sterilites, but who's sticking bolts and screws into 6.5qt bins?
me that's who. got a label maker and everything.

These are small enough where I doubt stacking weight will be an issue.

The sterilite are thinner/weaker.
So they have their place if you're ok with a lighter duty container.
I bought some of these and mini buckets for trick or treaters that never came.

Only place I used to get these good stackable sterilites on sale was at Big lots when they had a coupon that applied but know all the Big lots around here have closed
