This bundle is mainly a low cost way to get two Moto G Play 2024 phones with a year of Tracfone service, best for a backup line, Wi Fi use, or harvesting the plan. The phones are 4G only with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM, and the included service is very limited at 1500 talk, text, and data units for the year. The bundle also includes chargers and some orders arrived with extra power banks. Main caveats are the slow performance, Tracfone locking, and the need to activate and keep service active for about 60 days before unlocking.

  • Parents wanting a cheap backup phone for Wi‑Fi use, because the phone is fine for light use and the included plan covers a secondary line.

  • People who need a spare Android for apps and media, because it can handle basic app use and even cleaned-up low-spec use cases.

  • Shoppers harvesting a year of service, because the bundle is mainly valuable for stacking minutes, texts, and data onto an existing Tracfone account.

  • Families wanting two unlocked phones after a short wait, because the phones can unlock after 60 days and the service can be transferred or stacked.

I ordered this on Saturday and just got an order cancelled email. Anybody have this issue?
Same here, order cancelled at 9:07 (central) this morning. Called and spoke to a phone rep who was essentially useless...was told a "ticket" was opened and I'd supposedly hear from someone in 2 to 5 days.

4G should be fine if you plan to switch phones again in a year, maybe 2. Otherwise, go for the Moto G 5G 2025 deal instead for a bit more future-proofing.
Does 4G has good re-sale value if I disliked it - compared to 5G?

Again, select a different color, black and blue are OOS, all the rest are still in stock at the moment.
Only black is OOS at the moment.

Storage on my 128gb Samsung phone, 22gb is already taken up for the OS.

64-22=42. And since everyone and their uncle needs you to download their Ahh-Pee-Pee to use their service anymore, that adds up. 300mb-500mb-800mb+ for each one of those.

And that's not counting a single email, song, movie, offline map, offline translated language, personal photo, or recording.

You'll be constantly connecting the phone to a computer to dump the contents off of it. So sure, if you don't plan on actually using your device, 64gb is "enough". For everyone else, get something with more storage.

The Moto G play is the worst phone I've ever owned. I bought it so I could have a test phone for my job. It doesn't even do that.
Go look up the reviews it is truly the slowest thing ever, and it should never have been released. It trips over itself so much. Everything has lag. It is a punishment to use.
Motorola in any rational world would not have been allowed to sell this piece of crap
Which Play did you have, a 2023 or 2024. the '23 was trash, the '24 is a big improvement and is useable from all the reviews I have read.

So as I look at my 256 gb iPhone 13 with 56gb of used space, I say you have no idea what you are talking about.

Just because you need something does not mean someone else does not have different needs. You seem to have a hard time understanding this.

Note for existing QVC customers:
Promo Code: "HELLO10" works and gives you $10 Off.
I just ordered this set.... my total was $65.08 (including tax)
The Moto G Play phones are junk... just toss them or sell them on ebay.
Then use the 2 "1 Year Service" cards and add them to your existing account.
Two years of additional phone service for $65 bucks? Hard to beat.
Currently using a "Moto G Power 5G" with an Unlimited Talk/Text & 24GB Data Plan
Excellent phone for the price...but just any TF approved smartphone will work.
Also: I highly recommend to debloat your phone from useless junk apps.
Here is a guide:

Hope this helps some people out.
Cheers!

I promise nobody's going to use these phones for more than a day. They are so unbearably slow you will want to buy something else.
It takes about a day for all the background updates and downloads to calm down. It will then take some tinkering to stop the Tracfone bloatware from installing more garbage periodically. A properly cleaned Moto G Play 2024 will not beat flagships, but it will still run circles around PS2 emulation and is only $40.

I had lost 12975 minutes,12808 and 21.15 GB back in August on my regular use. Agents keep saying buying new plan and blaming the system. Mad
My condolensces @waveman and @isitlive. I've learned to work within TF limitations. If you have any tips on merging balances nowadays, please let us know.

Unfortunately 4G will not resell well at all, even worse with low end devices. At best you could use it as a small wifi media player with casual games outside of cell service. If you would like more longevity in your device at this budget, wait for a 5G deal with E-sim. It will give you better cell coverage too.

That's my use case as well. I use backup phone(s) for media consumption to preserve the life of my main phone. Managed to keep my flagship main running for 7 years now.

That is true for flagship/premium phones. Lower end devices still retain microsd support, upto 512Gb for this phone, which makes them especially well suited for bulk media/retro emulation. I also use them as wifi routers and security/dashcam when travelling. It is unfortunate however that mid-rangers are also losing expandable storage. I imagine budget ones will soon follow.
