Hasn't worked for a couple years. Different email, different CC; last year I even tried different mailing address and QVC/HSN canceled my order

First, it's $40 for the pair for new customers, as clearly stated in the very first words in the title.

Secondly, a friendly reminder - not everyone needs unlimited talk/text/data. Some people just want an emergency phone, or something with a valid number that they can give out for spammy crap like stores asking for a phone number for discounts. You said so yourself. If you think that's not useful - enjoy all that spam, I guess.

Thirdly, a 4G radio is fine for most applications. A micro SD card slot will let you add half a freaking terabyte of storage for 20 or 30 bucks. No one using this kind of phone needs more than 4gb of ram. These are great devices for people who just want to fit an absolute crap ton of apps, music, movies, and TV onto a phone.

Serious question- how much worse are these than the Moto G (non-Play version) 2025 that is also posted? I know neither of them are amazing but if I actually wanted my young son to be able to use it as a phone, would the Moto G 2025 be significantly or only incrementally better? Hoping someone can actually speak to that, not just "these phones are bad compared to $500+ phones"
I have both Moto G play 2024 and Moto G 5G 2024. As far as the performance is concerned, the play version is bit slower, but not substantially so. However, Moto G 5G 2024 does have a better battery life, has stereo speakers, NFC and eSIM support. From the published reviews/benchmarks, the performance of Moto G 5G 2025 is nearly equal to Moto G 5G 2024, but comes with better OS support.

Don't sleep on the moto stylus 5g 2025. It's snappy. I'm coming from an iphone 15PM. I wanted an android phone to play with and it's surprised me how good it is. Straight talk is running a special.

Most of us are buying to harvest the plans. This is the 8th time I am a new user. Wish me luck.
What are you changing to push the order through? Name? Email? CC? Address?

First of all, its $70 for the pair...not $40. Not everyone is a "new customer".

Secondly, a friendly reminder -- this plan is not a normal mobile phone plan. You only get 1500 minutes/texts/mb of data for the entire year. Works out to be roughly 4mb of data and 4 minutes of calling per day. Some people can hand-wave that away, justifying it (it's a SPARE phone, use google voice, use someone else's wifi, etc) -- but there's no hiding that it's the barest of the bare bone mobile plan possible.

Thirdly, only a 4G radio and a mere 64gb of internal storage. 4gb of ram. These are just "acceptable" devices.
What do you want for $40.00?

Not sure why you are being thumb downed. QVC is notorious for cancelling the orders and locking "new" accounts. To the point that I gave up
They don't like being told the cold hard truth about their so-called deals -- especially about mobiles (which folks tend to be very passionate over).

Yes. No need to contact CS st all. Once you activate the phone, you can simply switch the SIM to another phone. However, if you'd like to unlock this phone, the line has to be active on this phone for 60 days.
"

Careful on this, my experience is it may work for a few days or a week or two, but the line will be (temporarily) deactivated. This has been the case for at least the last year or two.

However once the plan is activated (and assuming you don't want the original phone to unlock) you can call CS and switch devices (standard caveat applies, unlocked, supports verizon bands etc).

I use these phones to reload an existing account using a different phone. In my experience, these phones bundled with 1 year plans built in automatically unlock after 60 days without actually having used the phone. YMMV.
Quick question for you Aquasink....I've done the same (use these prepaid deals to reload my existing tracfone lines, mostly for end of service date), but the last time I tried CS said that adding benefits from a new line to an existing line would change the existing line's phone number to the new lines number.

First I heard of that......so standard operating procedure for me is to just try a different rep when tracfone agents feed you a line of BS.

I try to go through customer service chat that way you can make a record of everthing that happens in case benefits or a line is lost (allthough sometimes it doesn't help as tracfone will just disregard any and all proof you have). However I had three in a row state the same thing, so I began to wonder if there was a policy change. Anyway I did it via the online tool and it worked (although I later had to switch sims after line was deactivated 24 or 48 hours later), allowing me to transfer benefits from my new phones to an existing line and retain the existing line's number.

I was wondering if you noticed any changes if you did a benefit transfer recently.

What are you doing where you need an "emergency" phone -- seriously, how many times has your main phone given up the ghost, there was NO one else around you with another device, no other businesses nearby to help you in a pinch, and you genuinely needed to use an "emergency" phone?

Then again, this is coming from someone who didn't get ANY mobile until 2006ish....so I survived just fine for quite a few decades with a landline. Maybe folks today aren't as resilient?

And why would I give out my phone number to stores? You can simply say "no thank you" and be done with it. Try saying "no" once in a while, it's a hoot!
well... it's called an emergency for a reason.
