KEF's Q Concerto Meta is a large 3 way bookshelf speaker that stands out for bass depth, dynamic punch, and a broad soundstage, especially in larger rooms or home theater setups. The $1,000 pair price is called a strong deal and matches recent KEF and retailer pricing. Proper amplification matters, since the speakers are described as demanding 4 ohm loads that can sound warm, dark, or even bright if the setup is off. The main tradeoff is that they are not the most forgiving choice, so pairing and room size matter. A solid option when you want KEF scale without moving to towers.

Keep in mind, as someone pointed out.Like these, those Polks aren't that efficient either.
You might want to calculate proper power into the cost to upgrade to either of them.
Now that SVS has come out with the Ultras.
You might find a deal on the Primes also.
Best way to know which is the best upgrade is to listen to them. SVS has great CS & return policy btw.
Two very different sounding speakers.

Sound is sound, as a matter of fact movies are a majority of "music" sound imo.
Just listen to a movie soundtrack.
A generalized impression, these would be more forward sounding with a broader soundstage.
The Polks would be more neutral/laidback sound with more focused soundstage.
As far as SVS they never dropped in quality, if anything it increased.
The main complaint now is the cost.
I set up the RZ30 with a Prime setup in a medium size environment.
At average listening levels it did pretty well.
Their new Ultra Evolution series is a pretty good step up imo.
You're on the right track taking a listen & good luck.

These only have 85 dB of sensitivity (i.e. you need more power than a higher sensitivity speaker to create the same amount of sound) and nominal impedance of 4 ohm, with dips down a lot lower. Many, but not every, amplifier is super stable below 4 ohms.
Ultimately you need an amp with a good amount of overhead to make the Q Concerto Metas sound good. I've had great luck driving these with 2x Fosi V3 mono amps, the WiiM power amp, etc. These sound great under high-value class D power! But, a marketplace entry-level AVR optimistically rated at 60 watts per channel will not give these the power or stability they need.

If aesthetics are not your #1 priority, and you use your speakers for everything (music of all kinds, movies, gaming, etc) and have a medium or larger room, listen a little on the loud side, and have a subwoofer---then the Ascend 340SE2 would wipe the floor with this speaker as well as the LS50 for just $800/pr. without requiring an external amp. (But of course you've never heard of Ascend, because they aren't sold at Best Buy, and they don't bribe the likes of Stereophile magazine to write gushy reviews about them.)
