Pretty good deal (-$400) for one of the better speakers in this price range.
Erin has data and likes it.

https://youtu.be/O-7b6sqDOus?si=o...br /> Some people may find that they are a bit treble light, especially in a large room.

Tried them. Didn't love them. Sounded a little muffled and dark.

Have the LS 50 metas. Some say these are better than the metas if you don't have a sub.

Seems like a great price.

How do these compare to the LSX II LT that were on sale for $600 a couple of weeks ago?

The best sounding bookshelf speaker in Kef's lineup is/was the Q150 paired with musical sub. Very surprisingly, it had much better frequency response (better bass) than the larger 6.5" Q350. The 150 was basically the same speaker as the more expensive LS50, in a more budget exterior. The reason why is that that Kef has put much more R&D and time tuning that 5-1/4" speaker than any of the rest of their lineup. The meta line is basically the same thing as the old gen sound wise - there is very little conclusive evidence so far that the meta line actually sounds better than the non metas (e.g. q150, q650, etc). Thus, I wouldn't bother with a 6.5" speaker like this from Kef.

The KEF LS50 Meta excels in clarity and midrange finesse, the Q Concerto Meta offers greater bass depth and dynamic capability for larger rooms, and the LSX II provides wireless flexibility with decent sound performance for smaller spaces or casual use. Your choice depends on priorities in bass, convenience, room size, and budget.I have the LS50s and the LSXII. The LSX fits on my desktop, the other two cannot. Reg. a musical sub, you need and I find the SVS micro goes well to complement, but is not too much of a jump up from the budget Jamos 810s or I don't have golden ears Smilie You do need good DACs/Amps to go with the LS50/ Q Concertos. Budget wise, consider the Kantos for desktop though. Read up ASR, erin though before you decide how you tradeoff.

They have nothing to do with each other. I own both. These are large 3-way passive and require a fairly powerful amp and have good bass. The lsx ii are small 2-way powered smart speakers without much bass without a sub (I have a small sub). When powered correctly these sound much better.

You almost certainly weren't powering them properly

I tried a few different power amps. They're just very warm speakers, which some people may like, but I prefer more neutral and detailed speakers. I liked my older Q speakers better. And my R speakers as well, but that's a more obvious and expected improvement.

This was their Black Friday price last year. I wonder if there's any chance they'll dip below this for this year's Black Friday?

This is nothing. Try Arendal's 1528 Tower 8 Limited Edition speaker... only $13k. And some prices go a lot higher than that. There are a lot of people with money out there.
