The RG406H stands out as the stronger portable retro handheld, with a T820 chip that handles PS2, GameCube, and especially N64 better than cheaper H700 or A133 models. Its 4.3 inch 4:3 screen and controls suit classic systems well, and the compact size is easier to carry than the larger RG556. The RG556 leans more toward PSP play, with a great OLED display and 1080p upscaled PSP, but its wider body and less precise sticks make it less comfortable for some 3D games. Both benefit from a better microSD card and a fresh setup, since bundled cards are often unreliable.

If I wanted to purchase a handful of these to donate to a local charity/hospital for kids what would be the best option, or could you point me to something else with preloaded games?

I have the RG556. If you think of it like the ultimate PSP, you'll be happy. It really struggles with PS2/GC beyond the basic titles, although some titles can play surprisingly well - it really is a crapshoot. Plus the sticks snap to cardinals which make controling 3d games less precise. But, it has a great OLED display and can do 1080p upscaled PSP which look great. Its also very ergonomic. Mine has since become a Rocket League Sideswipe dedicated machine

Yeah, because the high quality one are now better than original hardware in a lot of cases (particularly if that OG hardware is very difficult/impossible to find in good condition). That doesn't usually include a lot generally in the sub $100 category but in the case of the 406, now at that level, it's a now brainer if you like 4:3 systems. The newer and more powerful offerings are even better and offer superior build quality, screens, and/or CPUs but are definitely more of an investment for a hardcore retro gamer than a curiosity for someone merely trying to satisfy some nostalgia. A feature like a 120hz screen, dismissed by the casual as 'wtf, why do you need this on a retro handheld?!' is just another step up in terms of motion quality and input lag.

Aliexpress won't accept the AEUS08 when I try to pay with gpay or PayPal "for security reasons". Lol. Oh well maybe next time.

I have a miyoo and I would highly recommend you copy the games over to a name brand micro SD as soon as you get it. For me they used the cheapest SD possible that would work and that equated to it workingfor 3 weeks then crashing and having to be reformatted. I ended up going down the rabbithole of upgrading the operating system and getting my own games since the micro SD could not be read (and thus games could not be copied) until it was reformatted
If you just want to buy something that you don't have to think about, copy the SD immediately so you don't have to spend hours of your time if it crashes.
Do they come with games preloaded?
