A4L already has the recertified versions of the ls50 for $999 if you want it a little cheaper.
That means they can arrive 'with scratches, etc.'. In other words, recertified does not mean the condition of the cabinet is 'like new'... A4L does not guarantee to be 'scratch free' and it will be expensive to return with re-stocking fees, etc. if you do not like the (possible) scratches that it arrives to you with.
You may have had many great experiences with their 'recertified" items before... But that's what A4L customer support told me, so you are taking a risk.

As for the passive LS50 Meta, those are a lousy 85db sensitivity and 79Hz F3, meaning that aside from nice holographic mids they desperately need a sub and don't expect much room filling capability from them.
For $1200/pr you could do a whole hell of a lot better---the main thing the LS50 has going for it is aesthetics.
