Checking prices on Reverb to see if the original price is real or fake, $899 does seem to be the actual, new price. This deal is well below (hundreds below) the asking price several used models on reverb and is even less than a couple of b-stock models for sale there.

I was looking up the history of D'Angelico and I thought one of their guitars looked so familiar and then I realized it's on the cover of Mel Bay lol. Online reviews seem to say that the premier tier has quality control issues as do the reviews on musicians friend.

Agreed. New guitar prices are insane. Gibson wants $1,200 for Epiphone LPs just because they put the proper open book headstock on them. Insane.
