This Ridgid mid torque impact wrench kit stands out as a strong lug nut and general wheel service tool with a good strength to weight balance. It has enough punch to remove stubborn fasteners, and the four mode control plus auto stop make it versatile for tightening and removal. The pin detent anvil suits lug nut work and overhead use, though socket changes are slower than with a friction ring. The ramp up feels slower than an air impact at first, and the bundled battery value matters if you do not need the extra pack.

Soo tempted. Have a $15 off $100 coupon. Already have the 3/8" sub trq wrench that does a lot of work with a 4ah or 6ah bat.

Is this enough for diy auto work?
Yup. I have yet to find something it cant remove. Auto will stop at about 20-30ft/lbs. By mode 2 i can over tighten 120ft/lb fasteners, and i still got more more mode to go for full send it mode. In reverse i can easily remove 180lb castle nuts. This is all with a "standard" battery. You get even more ugg duggas out of the high performance batteries.

It kind of starts out slow? Hard to explain, but if you're used to air impacts where the response is instantaneous (and full torque immediately), it seems weird at first.
Thanks. I have air impact at home but I'm thinking of getting this to put in my car. It's out of stock now.

Looks like you're just about at break even. If you check the bundle you got the battery two pack is $70 so $35/battery. You paid $40 for the extra battery compared to this kit. Also depends if you need the batteries, if not you could return your battery and charger kit and keep the tool for $80
We can return just the batteries and charger even though it's a bundle?

YMMV but If it's the buy X get a free Y, usually they're separately packages and SKU items. If it's just a discount on a single package then no.
