Active Ingredlent here: Stannous fluoride 0.454% (0.15% w/v fluoride ion)

Typical anticavity toothpaste active ingredient: Sodium fluoride 0.25% (0.15% w/v fluoride ion)

Alternative anticavity toothpaste active ingredient: Sodium monofluorophosphate 0.76% (0.15% w/v fluoride ion)

Typical Anti hypersensitivity toothpaste active ingredient: Potassium nitrate 5%

There are differences between stannous flouride and sodium flouride, stannous is antimicrobial and attacks the bacteria that causes gum disease, hence the name of this toothpaste.

if the active ingredient is the same between 2 toothpastes, just remember the only difference in what brand you buy is the flavor.
