Worth upgrading from a 3080 for this? I looked at the 5080 but the news of a possible 5080 super with 24gb VRAM has me holding off on that one.

The 5070 Ti is about a 50% performance increase so definitely significant enough to upgrade, plus you can sell a 3080 for at least $350. I have a 3080 also and personally I'm holding out since all the games I play still run well. FWIW, there will probably be a 5070 Ti Super with 24GB as well.

I'm on a 3060 Ti 8GB VRAM and am biting the bullet on 5070 Ti 16 GB VRAM. Wouldn't be able to afford a 5080 SUPER

I say no. I have a 3080 and with Nvidia's DLSS, most games run max settings with that. Ram doesn't seem to be much of an issue.

With 9070xts right at $600 now starting to get hard to pay the premium on this one. I would hold off until the supers or go AMD.

Their drivers are garbage tho. At these prices I expect good drivers and AMD sucks. So many bugs on new games that take way too long to fix. Never again.

I've been seeing this at this this price on Amazon for a while now.
Does this being an SFF card make a difference in performance?

Upgraded to 9070xt from 3080. Kinda feel regret already. While performance gain is quite noticeable, the AMD software driver and system stability is purely trash compared to Nvidia. Consistently getting driver time out error crashes even when not gaming. Numerous fix attempts did not go well at all. Absolutely unacceptable.. I'll probably return it and just stick with Nvidia.

Amds drivers have been better than nvidias this generation.... Definitely hasn't always been the case, but seems like Nvidia really phoned it in this gen.

I bought and sold a 5080 FE (at the same price I paid!) one the Super news came out. The extra VRAM is going to be significant, I think. Worth waiting and I'm on a 2080
