Great bass, had the blue one. Black one has been on sale for a very long time at $499 which is a great price for what you get.

I have the pearl white. DiMarzio pickups. Active EQ. Fantastic quality. Take this every day over a squier or even Fender Player.

These are great basses. Charvel is owned by Fender. These are made in Mexico. The neck is a Fender Jazz Bass neck with a wheel adjustment at the heel. I found an open box of the white one on the Adorama web site a couple of months ago and bought it. I've owned and played a LOT of basses in the 40+ years that I've been playing. This one needs no upgrades. Everything is high end on it. Grab one if you are in the market for a great bass. You won't be sorry.
