What's the catch here? Seems very cheap. If I search I seem to find the same thing for sale at $48 so what's different about this listing? Almost worth it just for the 50 pass-through connectors alone.

This is the lower tier of klein crimpers, $30 is a regular price, the vdv226-110 is the nicer one that is usually closer to $45. Seems like a great deal regardless, I bit.I've found pass-thru crimpers are more tempermental but once you've got a good combo of cable and connectors, they are easily 5x faster.

I did not even know there was a lower tiered tool so no experience with this model, but I have the nicer ratcheting Klein and it has been perfect. Faster for sure, and not a single bad crimp in the hundreds I've done.

Source: I'm old and have been crimping ethernet cables since 568a was the standard lol.

The crimper went OoS, and it wouldn't let me get the connectors alone for the bundle price, wanted 30-some dollars for them ☹️

After JUST missing this deal (it went out of stock during check out), I was unreasonably annoyed, just said screw it, and went nuclear: ordered the VDV226-110 Crimper, the VDV501-852 Cable Tester, the VDV500-123 Wire Tracer, a 200-pack of Klein connectors, and a hardshell case to shove it all in.
It's been an eternity or two since I updated my network cabling/testing equipment (most of my existing kit, not counting consumables, is from making use of my employee discount from my brief stint working at Microcenter back in '08), and something just snapped inside me 😔
Then again, I did buy a new house two years back, and have been meaning to install all my PoE cams and wire all the rooms ever since, so maybe this is just some kind of fate. The switches in my home office/server room have been looking kind of depressing lately, with only maybe a dozen or so ports filled out of 96 🤔
... or that's how I'll probably end up justifying frustration-spending $400 on equipment to myself tomorrow because I missed a $16 deal, anyway...

At least I can take comfort in knowing Klein gear is solid stuff - I've bought a bunch of electrical and coax gear from them over the years, and their stuff has yet to let me down.
