Is this "220MB/s (1GB in ~4 sec)" for each disk or across all disks? Simplex or duplex? Is the "USB 3.1" gen 1 (5 Gbps) or gen 2 (10 Gbps)?
220MB/s is fine for 1 or 2 disks. But if you had to write to 5 disks with only 220MB/s, you could forget about quick backups and large file workflows.

I think all of your questions are answered in the marketing materials for the DAS.

For this price too slow. Max transfer is 5gbps (use b 3.1 gen 1) but only reaches 220Mb/sec.
